Cadet Portal Arrives in the Wing - posted 06-Jan-20

A major advance in cadet access to information on RAF Air Cadet events and individual training records has been rolled out to the Wing. All cadets now have individual accounts to access not details on upcoming activities but also the Squadron Training Programme, courses and their own service records. The Cadet Portal has been developed by RAF Air Cadet volunteers with expert knowledge on IT and software meaning the portal has been developed to meet the needs of the cadets and follows an major update to the Squadron Management System (SMS) which was released in 2019, a staff portal is planned to allow access by all staff away from squadron premises. Cadets can log onto the portal through many device forms from desktop computers to mobile phones meaning that they can access the portal at home or on the move so they can check on their progress and applications for events at any time. Plymouth & Cornwall Wing was in the last tranche of roll outs which have been carried out in stages to ensure stability of the secure servers, feedback from the cadets have been very positive.
