ALAN QUARTLY - posted 12-Jan-22 It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of a
dedicated and much respected member of staff. Flight Lieutenant Alan Quartly RAFAC
served in the Royal Air Force before joining the RAF Volunteer Reserve
(Training) serving with 3AEF as a Pilot and latterly as their coordinator at
RAF St Mawgan when on detachment there, a role in
which he was regularly involved in preparing air cadets for air experience
flights at RAF St Mawgan. After his RAF career he went to BOAC and British Airways,
flying Concorde and gained his captaincy on the 747. He held the Wing Aerospace role and served with 781(Newquay)
Sqn. Flt Lt Quartly was held with huge
respect by fellow staff and all the @aircadets who
he met, with his pleasant and calm approach to life he was known as the
kindest of gentlemen. |
